2000's | | | | System Administrator One of the many great benefits of staying in touch with your alma mater., 2003. | | | | On 19 May 2011, RI received an email from a man who identified himself as Mr Geno. He had found a small black suitcase lying abandoned on a sidewalk in Mission District, San Francisco, USA. Printed on its identification label were the names ‘Varun Devanathan’ and ‘Raffles Institution’. The civic-minded Mr Geno picked the bag up, searched the internet for the school’s contact information and dropped us an email. As Mr Varun Devanathan (RI 2001; RJC 2003) had earlier registered his details with us in our alumni portal, we were able to forward Mr Geno’s e-mail to him. With the assistance of Varun’s colleagues and fellow members of a local college organisation, Varun was able to meet up with Mr Geno to receive his suitcase the very next day. The school would like to thank Mr Geno for his public-spiritedness. We also think this story highlights one of the many great benefits of staying in touch with your alma mater. | | | | | | | |
